Insurance Requirements

All vendors attending an event will require insurance. 

Large community events require general liability insurance of 5 million dollars. If you have existing insurance, please email your Certificate of Insurance naming the Town of New Tecumseth as additional insured 14 days before the event date.

If you do not have insurance, or a preferred insurance provider, single day event insurance for vendors may be purchased from:

Food Vendors - Health Unit Requirements

Food vendors providing food to the general public must complete and submit a vendor application form to the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit at least 14 days prior to the event date.

Town By-Law Department Requirements

The Town of New Tecumseth By-law department requires refreshment vehicles to be inspected by the Public Health Unit before obtaining a refreshment vehicle license. After a health unit inspection has been passed please contact the by-law department to purchase your annual license.

Friendly Reminders

  • Tables and chairs are not provided
  • You must provide your own hydro, electricity cannot be guaranteed 
  • You may unload the contents of your vehicle at your assigned location, but you will have to move your vehicle to the vendor-designated parking area before the event start time
  • Tent structures must be reinforced with weights. Tents that are not secure may be collapsed. Any tent structures with walls must have walls opened in order to allow air to pass through if high winds are present during the event
  • Town events - A sitemap will be provided two weeks before the event date detailing your set-up location, vendor parking and in and out access during the event
  • All liability insurance certificates, health unit documentation and refreshment vehicle licenses must be provided to the Town 14 days before the event date
